I have been an artist and creative for as long as I can remember, dabbling in everything from painting to baking.
However, as soon as I discovered stained glass at Edinburgh Art College in 2003 it became the medium that truly captivated me.
Growing up in rural Scotland has shaped me as an artist and nature has become the inspiration for most of my work.
I love the colours, textures and patterns of the natural world and use these to infuse my pieces with a specific energy and mood. I strongly identify with the ethos of the Arts and Crafts movement that stands for excellent craftsmanship, quality materials and recognizing the importance of nature as inspiration.
Since graduating in 2007 with a degree in Architectural Glass design I have continued to pursue my passion for this magical medium.
I have been fortunate enough to work in studios around the UK and Ireland learning the specialized techniques of stained glass restoration and repair and have studied contemporary practice with leading international stained glass artists.
In 2012 I set up my own stained glass business, Emma Lindsay Glass studio based in Glasgow and have worked on many fantastic projects and commissions all over the UK and beyond.
